Keswick is a popular destination for the Lakeland visitor. Our Keswick cottages come in all shapes and sizes. Amongst our selection of cottages in Keswick you will find bungalows, apartments, detached and terraced family houses, as well as quaint and charming traditional cottages.

Holiday Homes In A Lakeland Village

Holidaying in a Lakeland village or hamlet brings with it its own delights and benefits. A village pub and local shop are all you need to sustain you, while you are free to enjoy walks directly from the front door of your cottage or farmhouse. There are many villages to choose from – the picture postcard village of Grange-in-Borrowdale if a firm favourite amongst Lakeland aficionados. While the villages of Rosthwaite, Braithwaite and Bassenthwaite have their own charm and attractions. Further afield, amongst the northern fells, are the villages of Uldale, Ireby, Caldbeck and Hesket Newmarket. These villages offer a different experience again of the Lake District and its landscape.

Our portfolio of properties includes cosy cottages for 2, as well as larger farmhouses and cottages for 8. Another deciding factor in choosing your cottage is whether you require a dog-friendly cottage, or alternatively a pet-free holiday property.

A cosy cottage for two suits the romantically inclined and those seeking a quiet bolt-hole to escape to. Cosy Cottage in Braithwaite lives up to its name – centrally located in the village, just a short walk from the village shop and pubs, it is an ideal cottage for two. Randel at Melbecks near Bassenthwaite is a compact studio with en-suite shower room in a former cow byre. Glendera in Keswick has a wood burner and backs on to the River Greta. The cottage sleeps 4 but is well suited to couples, being just a short walk from the town centre.

Holiday Homes For 8

Our larger townhouses and farmhouses accommodate up to eight people – ideal if you’re a large family or group looking to holiday in the Lakes. In Keswick there is the popular Bessy Boot, located just a short walk from the centre ok Keswick with all its attractions, restaurant and pubs. Amongst the fells of Borrowdale is the charming and characterful residence known as The Coppice which is located in its own grounds on the side of Catbells. Situated between Bassenthwaite village and the Lake is Mireside Farmhouse – a traditional yet well equipped, spacious property wth an extensive garden.

Pets Welcome

We have a varied selection of pet-friendly cottages scattered across the northern Lakes. Whilst the majority will allow one or two dogs, we have a few holiday properties that welcome three or four dogs.

The Lake District is best known for its beauty but it is so much more than just the landscape. Cumbria and the Lake District is a thriving community of local businesses, farms, attractions, sporting events and cultural treats.

Festivals In Keswick

Keswick has over the years established itself as a venue for a variety of festivals. Keswick Beer Festival is a popular event held annually on Keswick Rugby pitch, with the proceeds of the event going to various charities. Keswick Mountain Festival, again an annual event, offers the opportunity to compete in a variety of outdoor activities based amongst the local fells and on Derwentwater. Then there is “Words By The Water” – a literature festival held annually in March and attracting a variety of authors. Keswick Jazz Festival is held in May at various venues throughout Keswick and culminates in a parade through the town.

A Destination For a Relaxing Holiday

Keswick is a great choice for a relaxing and restorative holiday break. Its pedestrianised main square provides visitors with a safe environment in which to enjoy a day of shopping. A Playground For The Adventurous

Besides its beauty, the Lake District National Park offers the adventurous visitor a range of activities including fell walking, climbing, cycling, horse-riding and mountain biking to name but a few.

Water-based activities include kayaking, open water swimming, windsurfing, sailing and paddle boarding. The many marinas and kayaking companies offer tuition for the beginner and have equipment for hire.

There are even opportunities to take to the air. Hang-gliding, gyrocopters, gliding, hot-air balloon rides and para-gliding are available at various locations throughout Cumbria.

Our self-catering, holiday accommodation in the Lake District includes farmhouses, apartments, bungalows, family houses, converted barns, large houses set within their own grounds, as well as white-washed, traditional cottages.

A number of our holiday properties have open coal fires or log burning stoves and many of our properties are pet and dog-friendly. We also have a growing number that have free internet access. With such a wide range of self-catering accommodation, you should find something to meet your needs.


Last Minute, Short Breaks

During Winter and Spring, many people choose to take a weekend or mid-week short break. It is a time when the fells are quieter and the scenery more picturesque. You can take a 3 or 4-night break in many of our cottages from November through to March (subject to availability and excluding Christmas & New Year).
